BioCharacter Name: Sakura Kinomoto
Series: Card Captor Sakura
Timeline: After the Final Judgment, but before her final confrontation with Eriol.
Character History:
In the beginning of the series, Sakura is your ordinary ten year-old school girl who is really good at P.E and hates Math. She lives with her father, Fujitaka Kinomoto, and her elder brother, Touya Kinomoto. Her mother, Nadeshiko Kinomoto, died when Sakura was three years old, and even though the girl doesn’t remember her well, she loves her very much nonetheless, and always greets a picture of Nadeshiko that is kept in the kitchen, right before she goes to school.
One day, she finds an ancient book and releases the Clow Cards, along with Kerberos, the Sun Guardian who had been sleeping inside the book. By opening the book, it is revealed that Sakura has magic powers as well, and so she becomes a cardcaptor whose mission is to retrieve all the Cards once more, before they go around causing havoc. In the manga, the book’s seal was already broken since the day Clow Reed (the original creator of the cards) died, and the Cards had escaped the book long before Sakura found it.
Personality-wise, Sakura is a bubbly, happy and generally cute young girl who loves her friends and family. Highly determined, she can be very tough at critical situations, even if she is very much scared of things she doesn't understand, which will often lead her to a few tears. She also fears the unknown, like ghosts and such.
Abilites/Special Powers:
Sakura has a deck of 52 (19, in the manga) magical cards under her possession, along with her Star wand, which she has to use in order to summon the cards’ powers. The cards have many different sorts of abilities, ranging from having control over the Elements, to performing specific tasks; for instance, in the anime, it is said The Bubbles was created with the purpose with washing Kerberos.
Sakura is also a yumemi (dreamseer), meaning she can have glimpses of the future through dreams.
